It’s not secret that OnePlus has had a hard time shipping its phones over the years, but today marks one of the brief moments in time when you can actually navigate to the company’s website, click a few buttons, and actually have their newest device ready to ship to your home within a day or two. The OnePlus 3T, in its 64GB Gunmetal variant, is now available…

Touch latency on the OnePlus 3/3T is still irritating, even after recent Nougat update

I’ve had the OnePlus 3T for about a month now, but there’s one flaw with this otherwise awesome phone that I just can’t get over. As you may have heard before, the phone has a touch latency issue. It’s not terrible — definitely not as bad as some of the bottom-of-the-line Android phones you might be familiar with. But it’s enough of an annoyance that I — and plenty of others — notice it every day.

And while OnePlus told us last month that the phone would be getting some “optimizations” relating to its touch latency with the release of OxygenOS 4.0 (which brought Android Nougat), we can’t really tell if there is any improvement in the new version. So we thought we’d bring it up again…

OnePlus barely beats end-of-year deadline, releases Nougat for OnePlus 3/3T

OnePlus-3-hands-on

Earlier this year, we received word from OnePlus that they planned to get Nougat onto the OnePlus 3 and 3T before the end of the year. As we quickly approached the New Year, many became skeptical that this deadline would be met. Now, on the last day of 2016, Carl Pei, Co-founder of OnePlus, has announced that they will begin rolling out a stable build of OxygenOS 4.0 (Nougat) later tonight…

There are more Galaxy Note 7s still in use than LG V20 and OnePlus 3T combined

The Galaxy Note 7 was discontinued over two months ago, but we still talk about it a lot for good reason, there are still quite a lot of them out there. Just last month Samsung confirmed that 90% of Note 7s had been taken off the market, but that last 10% is still a lot of phones. In fact, it’s so many that it still outnumbers the total sales of some other smartphones which are still available.

Google Pixel XL vs. OnePlus 3T: Easily two of the year’s best Android phones, but not easy to pick

Site default logo image

img_3842

In my eyes, there are two standout Android phones for the second half of this year, and they serve slightly different target markets. The OnePlus 3T, the revamped version of the Chinese company’s OnePlus 3, brings a lot of high-powered specifications in an affordable package that’s super developer- and tinker-friendly and well-designed. The Google Pixel (XL, in this case), on the other hand, is a device that is similarly well-designed, but higher-priced, has compromises and is aimed at the average consumer — the kind of person who couldn’t care less about specs.

The problem is that a lot of people fall in between these two categories. They want a consumer-friendly phone that “just works”, and they also want a phone that has all the bells and whistles. They want a phone with a great camera and great battery life, but they also want a phone that they can tinker to their heart’s content and has as few compromises as possible at the lowest price-point possible. If you’re that person, you’re not going to go wrong with either of these choices. But let’s take a look real quick at the differences between the two phones if you still can’t decide.

There’s no doubt that the OnePlus 3 and recently announced OnePlus 3T are among the best bang-for-your-buck Android smartphones on the market today, but they aren’t without issues. As owners have noticed over the past few weeks, both devices have poor touch latency. Now, Carl Pei, one of the company’s founders, has responded to those complaints.

OnePlus, in ‘Never Settle’ fashion, unboxes the OnePlus 3T in a fighter jet [Video]

Smartphone manufacturers — and, in some cases, even the cellular carriers that sell their phones — have started doing unboxings in recent years, and this latest one comes from OnePlus. In this unboxing — which, in reality, is mostly just an ad — the Chinese company sends someone up in a fighter jet to unbox the phone hundreds of feet above the ground…

OnePlus 3T with Dash Charge goes head-to-head with the Pixel XL’s USB-C fast charging [Video]

Just yesterday OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 3T, an updated version of the already-pretty-impressive OnePlus 3. It brings an updated processor, extra storage, a new color variant, and a handful of other improvements. One of those was a larger battery. The larger 3,400 mAh battery adds a little extra stamina to the phone, but also extends the charging time ─ or at least, that’s how it’s supposed to work.
