OnePlus 3T updated with optimizations and bug fixes, still no Nougat in sight

Shortly after its release last month, OnePlus has just updated the OnePlus 3T with a new build of OxygenOS, version 3.5.4. The new update, much to the dismay of many OnePlus fans, is not Nougat, but it does bring a handful of important bug fixes and optimizations.

Most notably in this update, OnePlus has optimized the OnePlus 3T for use on T-Mobile’s network in the United States. Along with that, a few tweaks have been made to the battery saving mode and also to Bluetooth to solve some minor issues. The full changelog follows.

  • Optimizations for US-TMO Network
  • Optimizations to Reduce Lag when Battery is below 5%
  • Optimized Bluetooth Connectivity for Mazda Cars
  • Optimized Battery Saving Mode: GPS and Orientation Preferences will be restored when Battery Saving Mode is closed.
  • Fixed Flashlight Usability Issue in WhatsApp
  • Increased System Stability
  • Implemented Various Bug Fixes

OxygenOS 3.5.4 is rolling out now to OnePlus 3T owners and will start off slowly, rolling out only to a small percentage of users, with all users picking up the new build within the next several days.

Of course, the question still remains when Nougat will debut on the OnePlus 3/3T. The company has previously promised that the update would be available by the end of the year, and with just two weeks remaining until then, it seems like OnePlus is going to be cutting things pretty close. Luckily, the beta is already available
