During a session at Cloud Next 2018, Google showed off Gmail for Android’s upcoming Google Material Theme update. To match the recent web revamp, the mobile version of Gmail will gain traditional desktop features like density options and quick attachments in the inbox view.

Google unveils 2FA ‘Titan Security Key’ w/ custom firmware, coming to Google Store

Besides Pixel phones, Chromebooks, and Home smart speakers, Google also develops enterprise-focused hardware. That lineup is expanding on the second day of Cloud Next 2018 with the company announcing its own 2FA Security Key as part of the Titan secure elements family. The company also unveiled the Edge TPU for the Internet of Things.

G Suite accounts with 2FA Security Keys have had ‘zero’ reported, detected hijackings

On the consumer front, G Suite is comprised of Gmail, Docs, Hangouts Chat, and more, while administrators have access to a set of security features. The Security Center is gaining a new investigation tool to find threats. Meanwhile, Google highlights that with Security Keys there have bene “zero reported or detected hijackings” of G Suite accounts.

Google’s Cloud AutoML enters beta w/ custom translation & natural language neural networks

Earlier this year, Google launched Cloud AutoML Vision in alpha after unveiling at I/O 2017 as a way for neural networks to design better neural nets. At Cloud Next 18, Google is launching AutoML Natural Language and AutoML Translation in beta, along with other updates to core services.
