LG’s plans for the flagship market are mostly unknown at the moment. Earlier this year, the company said it wasn’t going to stick to a yearly launch schedule, and all it officially showed off at MWC was a refreshed V30. However, since the “G7 Neo” showed up on the show floor back in Barcelona, we’ve been hearing new details on the company’s upcoming flagship, and today we’re getting a new report with potential launch details.
One publication at MWC 2018 yesterday went hands-on with a device named the “LG G7 Neo” with an iPhone-like notch, dual-cameras, and more. At the time, it wasn’t clear whether this was a prototype of the reportedly scrapped G7 or the new rumored successor. However, it now appears to be the latter, while a new Android Wear smartwatch is also in the works.

Today, a new report is claiming that LG is preparing to launch its next set of Android smartphones, the LG V30 and LG G7, a bit earlier than usual.
LG had a tough choice to make with the LG G6. With the Snapdragon 835 tied up in the Galaxy S8, the company needed to either wait or release with last year’s hardware. I think it made the right choice going with the Snapdragon 821, but it puts a glaring difference between the G6 and S8 on paper. Now, LG seems to be working to make sure this doesn’t happen next year as the company is apparently collaborating with Qualcomm on the Snapdragon 845.
