LG G7 ThinQ

Just like it did leading up to the announcement of the G6, LG has decided to talk at length about some of the features we should expect to see in the upcoming G7 ThinQ. This time around, the South Korean company has confirmed that its next flagship smartphone will include a super bright 6.1-inch IPS LCD display that will be able to reach 1,000 nits.

LG G7 will reportedly arrive in May with a ‘Plus’ variant in tow, could cost $100 more than G6

LG’s plans for the flagship market are mostly unknown at the moment. Earlier this year, the company said it wasn’t going to stick to a yearly launch schedule, and all it officially showed off at MWC was a refreshed V30. However, since the “G7 Neo” showed up on the show floor back in Barcelona, we’ve been hearing new details on the company’s upcoming flagship, and today we’re getting a new report with potential launch details.

Leaked ‘LG G7 Neo’ is reportedly the company’s next flagship as Android Wear watch planned

One publication at MWC 2018 yesterday went hands-on with a device named the “LG G7 Neo” with an iPhone-like notch, dual-cameras, and more. At the time, it wasn’t clear whether this was a prototype of the reportedly scrapped G7 or the new rumored successor. However, it now appears to be the latter, while a new Android Wear smartwatch is also in the works.

‘LG G7 Neo’ pops up at MWC w/ ‘V35’, packs Snapdragon 845, OLED display w/ notch, vertical dual-cameras

LG’s future in the flagship smartphone business is a bit unclear at the moment. Generally, MWC is the launchpad for the company’s latest in the G-series, but this year was an exception. Instead, we got a refreshed LG V30, and more rumors about a new flagship in the Summer. However, as it turns out, the LG G7 was actually on display at MWC, at least a version of it.

LG V30 reportedly coming in August, LG G7 to land in January, both w/ OLED displays

LG still isn’t the first name that comes to mind with Android smartphones, but the company has been doing a pretty solid job over the past several months with its new releases. Today, a new report is claiming that LG is preparing to launch its next set of Android smartphones, the LG V30 and LG G7, a bit earlier than usual.

LG reportedly working with Qualcomm on the Snapdragon 845 for the LG G7

LG had a tough choice to make with the LG G6. With the Snapdragon 835 tied up in the Galaxy S8, the company needed to either wait or release with last year’s hardware. I think it made the right choice going with the Snapdragon 821, but it puts a glaring difference between the G6 and S8 on paper. Now, LG seems to be working to make sure this doesn’t happen next year as the company is apparently collaborating with Qualcomm on the Snapdragon 845.
