Google Pixel 7 Pro drops to $520, JBL Authentics smart speakers from $275, more

A clearance discount on Google Pixel 7 Pro headlines the deals today, dropping down to just $520. The previous-generation handset is now $479 off, and comes joined by all-time low pricing on JBL’s Google Assistant Authentics smart speakers from $275. And then you can score the first discounts on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ at $220. Hit the jump for all that and more in the latest 9to5Toys Lunch Break.

Clearance deals take $479 off Google’s 256GB Pixel 7 Pro

Woot is now offering the best price ever on the Google Pixel 7 Pro. Now, you can score last year’s flagship smartphone for $520, with a $6 delivery charge applying otherwise. Buying the unlocked 256GB handset would have originally set you back $999, or now as much as $947 at Amazon right now. Today’s discount saves you $479 and also beats our previous mention from last month by an extra $18. We breakdown how this smartphone stacks up against the 2023 roster below the fold, and our original hands-on review over at 9to5Google offers some extra insight.

This might not be the latest smartphone on the block, but there’s no arguing with a $479 discount. The Pixel 7 Pro arrives as last year’s flagship from Google and is still one of the company’s more capable releases to date. It packs a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz screen on the front, with a triple sensor camera array around back comprised of a 50MP main sensor, 12MP ultrawide lens, and upgraded 48MP telephoto zoom capabilities. All of that comes powered by the second-generation Tensor G2 chip which is complemented by 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM on this higher-end model.

JBL’s Google Assistant Authentics smart speakers hit new lows

We are now tracking some of the best prices yet JBL’s higher-end Authentics smart speakers. Alongside offers on the more modest models below, Amazon is now offering the JBL Authentics 500 Wireless Home Speaker for $550. Regularly $700, this is a solid $150 in savings and the lowest price we can find. This comes in at $50 below our mention just ahead of the holidays last year and marks the lowest we have tracked on Amazon yet. The Authentics lineup first debuted at the tail end of the summer last year to deliver a more flagship listening experience packed with Google Assistant features. Scope out our hands-on review and get more details on the lineup below.

The JBL Authentics 500 Wireless Home Speaker, much like the more affordable models in the lineup on sale below, features a premium design made with a leather-like enclosure, a sort of brass-colored treatment on the metal accents, and a textured Quadrex grille along the front. It packs in 270 watts of 3.1-channel sound (three 2.5mm tweeters, three 2.75-inch midrange woofers, and a 6.5-inch down firing subwoofer) alongside virtual Dolby Atmos support to “create a lifelike musical experience that makes you feel like you’re hearing your music live.”

Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ see first cash discounts

Amazon is now offering the first cash discount on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+. This new Android tablet just released earlier in the month, and now you can drop the 128GB capacity down to $219.99 shipped in both Graphite and Silver designs. This is $50 off the usual $270 price tag and a new all-time low. We did see launch promotions include a free keyboard case, but this is a better value. It’s effectively getting a free storage upgrade, as the base 64GB capacity retails for $220. Today’s savings are also matched at Best Buy. Dive into our announcement coverage.

We first got a look at the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ back in October, only now just beginning to ship this month. The new release is certainly on the more affordable end of the spectrum as far as Android tablets go, and the specs aren’t all too far off. There’s a 10.9-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chip at the center of the package. Two different configurations are available, with the 64GB SSD version coming with 4GB of RAM, and the 128GB capacity being complemented by 8GB of memory. Each one sports a 5,100mAh battery, too, and there’s expandable microSD card storage up to 1TB for good measure.
