The Taiwan stock exchange has announced that trading in HTC shares will be halted tomorrow in advance of a major announcement, or, in stock market language, ‘material information.’ This follows rumors that the failing company may be acquired by Google.

One day after announcing availability of its Vive VR headset for consumers following a few delays, HTC today announced an enterprise edition of the product.
Starting today, HTC’s Vive VR headset is available to purchase direct from HTC at vive.com in at least 24 countries with the device expected to ship to customers in the next 2-3 days. And it’s also being made available to preorder at select retail partners including Microsoft Stores, GameStop and Micro Center with those orders expected to arrive beginning sometime this week.
HTC originally launched preorders in February and started shipping in April, but until this week orders have been backed up and the company has been experiencing shipping delays and complaints from preorder customers.
A day after their Twitter tease of what is presumably the One M10, HTC executives sat down with CNET for a wide-ranging talk. In the interview, CEO Cher Wang and CFO Chialin Chang said that the company’s next phone will have a better camera while noting the importance of the new Vive VR.
On the heels of showing off a second development kit at CES last week, HTC has announced that pre-orders for the Vive will officially start on February 29th. The price of the virtual reality headset will also be announced closer to the date and shipping is still scheduled for sometime in April.
Today at HTC’s event in Barcelona, Spain, the Taiwanese company announced its “Vive” virtual reality headset made in collaboration with one of the most well-known leaders of the PC gaming industry: Valve.
