Sharp Aquos S2 leaks show off a bezel-less display with a fingerprint sensor underneath

One of the biggest trends so far throughout 2017 has been bezel-less displays. LG first kicked this off with the G6, Samsung followed with the Galaxy S8/S8+, and Andy Rubin’s noticeably delayed Essential Phone also debuted with this design. The latest smartphone to enter the scene with a big display and minimal bezels is the Sharp Aquos S2, and along with its large display canvas, there’s also a futuristic trick hiding below it – a fingerprint scanner.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 could have insane 5.9-inch 4K Ultra HD display

While only a small but growing number of users have even upgraded their desktop computer with a 4K monitor, a new report from PhoneArena claims that Samsung will start mass-producing a 5.9-inch 4K Ultra HD Super AMOLED display in August. Conveniently, that is around the time Samsung might begin manufacturing its Galaxy Note 5.

Sharp AQUOS Crystal coming exclusively to Sprint for $240

Today, Sprint announced that it will exclusively carry the Sharp AQUOS Crystal across its prepaid and postpaid wireless services. This news comes after much speculation that the carrier’s SoftBank connection would sway the Japanese electronics maker, with the device also coming to Sprint’s parent company in Japan as well. This marks the release of Sharp’s first AQUOS smartphone in the US.

Sharp’s Android-based SH8188U phone leaks

Unwired View has obtained images of Sharp’s next Android phone codenamed SH8188U. The device is without a QWERTY keyboard, hardware buttons, and is reported to be running Android 2.2.  From the back we can conclude that the device will have a 5-megapixel, and does not appear to have a front-facing camera. Other features include HD video recording, WVGA display, Wi-Fi, and 3G. According to a filing with Bluetooth SIG, this sleek little device will be on its way to North America, Europe and Asia very soon. No pricing or date has been announced, but you bet we’ll keep you updated.
