GoPro acquires Replay and Splice video editing apps, Android versions coming later this year

GoPro has been having a rough time as its stock price has stumbled over the last few months. Its signature action camera is a niche product and competitors are releasing cheaper clones that replicate most of the same functionality. Now, GoPro has has acquired two mobile video apps to offer a complete capture and editing solution for its users.

Google’s Chromecast & Nexus event now available for replay [Video]

Although all the Chrome and Nexus festivities are over, Google has now posted its livestream video from earlier this morning on YouTube for replay. Along with the Nexus 5X and 6P, Google also unveiled a pair of new Chromecasts, the Pixel C tablet, a new Chromecast app, new features for Google Photos, and more…

Google Search results now include NBA video recaps, other leagues on the way

The next time you’re looking for a score or recap of a recent NBA game, you’ll find a much smoother experience directly from the Google Search page. Google noted last night that it’s starting to display high-quality video clips from NBA games next to sports scores for related queries (as pictured above).

The new embedded videos play directly on the Google Search page without sending the user to YouTube and appear to becoming directly from the NBA’s official YouTube channel. You can check out an example of the new feature here.

Google says that it plans on adding other leagues in addition to the NBA in the future.

MLB At Bat app updated for 2014 season w/ new expanded instant replay feature

This season will be the first that Major League Baseball uses a new expanded instant replay system that it first announced back in January. Now, the MLB At Bat app for Android devices has been updated with support for the 2014 season and the new replay system. That means that users of the app will be able to view “every decisive instant replay video clip and review explanation,” the same footage the umpires review, through the app’s Gameday feature.
