Here’s what Google might have planned for Google Photos at I/O 2018

Google Photos

Google Photos is undoubtedly one of Google’s most successful software products of the last few years; it has quickly become the go-to photo storing and sharing platform for many iOS and Android users alike. And with that, a notable presence at I/O, as has been the case in years past (Photos was announced at I/O 2015, by the way), is perhaps expected for I/O 2018.

LG teases new Google Lens features to be unveiled at Google I/O 2018

LG officially unveiled its latest flagship smartphone today with the LG G7 ThinQ. The phone offers quite a few new features, but one of its most interesting aspects is how it integrates Google Assistant. Hidden in LG’s press release, though, is an interesting tidbit about Google Lens – we’re getting new features at I/O.

What to expect from Google I/O 2018: Android P, ‘Material Design 2,’ Android Things, and more

Another year, another Google I/O. This year, we’re headed back to the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California, to hear and see yet again what Google has in store for developers (and the rest of us!). But as is the case every year, we’re not entirely in the dark on what kinds of announcements and products we’ll see on the Shoreline stage, so let’s take a quick tour through some of the most obvious — and not-so-obvious — expectations we have for this year.

What exactly is this so-called ‘Material Design 2,’ and what will it look like?

If you follow Google at all, you’ve probably heard this “Material Design 2” buzzword that’s been going around since February. At that point it was little more than just number, but as I mentioned, we had rudimentary evidence that there was really something to this. Long story short, we’d heard whispers as far back as early last year that Google was working on a spiritual successor to Material Design, but didn’t have any tangible evidence to back that up.

Now, there’s lots of evidence, enough so in fact that we can start to piece together exactly what it is Google’s doing here. Whatever you want to call it, Google’s reimagining its approach to design, so let’s tear this apart…
