Samsung has no plans to sell a refurbished Galaxy Note 7 in India

Yesterday we heard that Samsung was possibly going to resurrect the Galaxy Note 7 with the same design, specs, and features, but with a new, smaller and safer battery. Many are still interested in picking up the Note 7, but it seems like the company doesn’t have plans of bringing it back…

In a statement to Gadgets360, a Samsung representative in India confirmed that “The report on Samsung planning to sell refurbished Galaxy Note 7 smartphone[s] in India is incorrect,” meaning the company isn’t planning a relaunch of that device, at least in India.

Could there still be some truth to these rumors? It seems possible. This is now the second time we’ve heard rumors that Samsung was planning to sell refurbished devices, and this latest report stated that Samsung was targeting emerging markets with this relaunch, so it could still happen outside of India.

In a poll yesterday, we asked if you would be willing to buy a refurbished Galaxy Note 7 with a smaller and presumably safer battery, and the majority of 9to5Google readers who participated stated that they would certainly be interested. So, the interest is clearly there, it’s just a matter of if Samsung wants to take the risk…
