Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod goes official, brings optical zoom and Xenon flash to the Moto Z

As we said in our review, Moto Mods make enhancing your phone easy. Want better speakers? Slap on a JBL speaker mod. Want better battery life? Add a battery pack! Motorola’s current line up of Moto Mods include all of the fairly obvious use cases, but today the company has launched a new Moto Mod at IFA: a camera from Hasselblad.

The new Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod attaches to the back of any Moto Z (Z, Force, or Play), and brings true, 10x optical zoom, a Xenon flash, and the ability to shoot photos in RAW format. The mod also gives the phone a more ergonomic feel in the hand and gives users better control over their photos.

Motorola is offering anyone who picks up this mod 2 years of free, original quality photo backups on Google Photos. Hasselblad’s “Phocus” software will also be available for free for editing RAW photos.

The Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod is set to debut next month around the globe. Pre-orders will be available through Verizon Wireless starting September 8th will availability on Verizon and Motorola.com starting on the 15th. Pricing is as follows.

  • 299€ Europe
