An update to Google-owned photo editor Snapseed today adds new filters that allow users to overlay text on images in a variety of styles. Snapseed 2.8 includes a variety of fonts, colors, and other options, as well as the ability to resize photos before sharing or exporting.
The text filter can be accessed from under the tools menu. In total, there are 38 fonts and a wide range of colors. There are a number of style options, including the ability to invert text, change the opacity, and using the Text filter in combination with other filters to make more unique designs.
Other things in this update include the ability to change the output size of an image before exporting or sharing. Accessible from the overflow menu, a new settings pane allows users to choose options form 800px to 4000px. There is also a do not resize setting that keeps the output from the original image. There are also various UI adjustments and bug fixes.
Version 2.8 is rolling out now and you can grab the latest version of Snapseed on the App Store and the Play Store.
