Exclusive: Sprint & T-Mobile — and likely other carriers — giving away free Gear Fit 2 w/ purchase of Galaxy Note 7

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 is set to be announced tomorrow, and at this point we’ve heard about pretty much everything this phone has to offer. The design has been leaked in several renders and images, and just last week we added some more tidbits ourselves and confirmed several details about the device.

Now, we’ve confirmed with multiple sources that both Sprint and T-Mobile will be offering some free goodies with the purchase of a Galaxy Note 7…

Both of our sources, who chose to remain anonymous, have confirmed to us that Samsung is working with T-Mobile and Sprint to give away the Samsung Gear Fit 2 smartwatch with purchase of a Galaxy Note 7.

At least in the case of Sprint, we’re told that the $180 fitness-focused smartwatch will be only one of two options for customers who pre-order the Note 7 early; there will also be a 256GB memory card. Although not confirmed, we expect that it will be a standard microSD card. It seems unlikely, but the card coming with pre-orders could be a 256GB UFS card (if the Note 7 does indeed work with Samsung’s new UFS storage).

We’ve confirmed these two carriers will offer this deal, but others, such as Verizon, just recently announced availability details for the Gear Fit 2. In light of that, we’d say that it’s a pretty safe bet that this deal — or at least a similar one — will be offered when you buy the Note 7 through AT&T and Verizon, and perhaps other carriers, as well. Rumor also has it that retailers like Best Buy will be offering the same promotion.

As mentioned previously, the Galaxy Note 7 is set to be officially announced August 2nd and will to go on sale later this month on August 19th. In the meantime, the major carriers will likely have pre-orders open on the 2nd, and this this deal will likely be available all the way up until the full release.
