T-Mobile unboxing takes the HTC 10 up 10,000 feet in the air

As is customary for T-Mobile in 2016, for the latest product launch, the company sent its product guru, Des Smith to unbox HTC’s newest smartphone. Having unboxed the Galaxy S7 underwater, and the LG G5 in an off-road racing car, the only way was up for Des with the HTC 10.

Compared to the last two unconventional unboxings, the helicopter ride is pretty tame. It’s not high speed, and you can actually understand what Des is saying, which is great. During the flight, T-Mo’s outgoing product chief shoots some 4K footage which, in combination with the built-in OIS, looks very promising.

As for the box contents, those include all the likely suspects: Phone, USB cable and a Quick-Charge 3.0 enabled wall adapter as well as the usual paperwork.

We’ve already had our hands on the phone, and think it could be a great device for 2016. Even if it doesn’t offer much to trump the likes of the S7 or G5 it is, at the very least, healthy competition for the two Korean tech giants’ latest devices.

With its focus on audio quality and build quality, there will surely be consumers out there who appreciate the HTC 10 and will stump up their hard-earned cash to buy one. I, for one, am tempted.

For those who watched the video all the way until the end, don’t worry, I’m told Des made it out of the desert alive and unscathed.
