HTC 10 hi-res renders offer an impressive preview of the upcoming device [Gallery]

HTC is going to announce a brand new phone at some point in the next couple of months, and will likely release the next generation flagship HTC One-series phone. While the device is likely to keep the trademark unibody metal chassis, it’s rumored to be moving away from the ‘One’ moniker, and will be named the ‘HTC 10’.

The latest set of digital renders posted to XDA-Developers — designed by temp64GTX on TurboSquid and corrected by Leoside — make the device look more attractive than any physical leaks have shown so far. Like previous leaks, we can see clearly that there’s a USB Type-C connector on the bottom alongside a loudspeaker and microphone. Sadly, this bottom edge-mounted speaker means there are no stereo speakers on the front. HTC may still use BoomSound as a brand for its audio enhancements, but it won’t be using it to describe front-facing speakers.

The high resolution renders are gorgeous, and show the device in three likely metallic colors. We have a dark gray front and back model, one with a more frosty aluminum body and a black front panel, and lastly, the dark gray metal chassis with a black front panel. A previous sketchy leak suggested we might see more variety than this.

These corrected renders are based on the most recent real-life images we’ve seen emerge online, but thankfully show them in a much better light. As is often the case with device leaks, the product photos tend to be blurry, taken with a poor camera and normally in bad lighting conditions. If the real thing is as good-looking as these, I may change my opinion on the HTC 10. What I’ve seen up until now hasn’t impressed me much, but I may be persuaded.

As a reminder, the HTC 10 is rumored to feature a 5.15-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM and a Type-C connector and the same 12MP camera used in the Nexus 6P.
