Google offers developers 25% off Pixel C tablet to build split screen apps – 32GB: $375, 64GB: $449

Update 3/14: The discount is now available to those in the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Update: As of Wednesday afternoon, Google has started emailing the redemption codes. They must be redeemed by July 15th. The 25% discount also applies to the 32GB model.

To coincide with the release of the Android N Developer Preview, Google is offering developers a hefty 25% discount on the 64GB Pixel C. This $150 price cut brings the device down to a much more reasonable $450.

Developers can enter their email address on the sign-up page and they will receive a unique discount code at a later date for the Google Store. Google notes only one unique code per person and the offer is only available in the US. Additionally, there are limited supplies. Unfortunately, this code does not apply to the Pixel C’s neat magnetic keyboard (also priced at $149).

At launch, the Pixel C was a bug-riddled tablet with many performance issues. Some OTA updates have alleviated the issue, but Android still lacks basic tablet features to take advantage of a larger display. Android N will begin to remedy these issues with a split-screen mode. Developers will be able to install Android N on their Pixel C and begin building apps that can resize and take advantage of a larger display.
