YouTube Gaming web portal officially launches

Following the mobile YouTube Gaming app launching on the Play Store earlier today, the web portal for YouTube Gaming has now officially launched as was previously speculated would happen. The site, very similar to the mobile app, lets you quickly browse live and previously-recorded content, keep track of your favorite channels, and more…

For those unaware, YouTube Gaming is Google’s attempt at competing with Twitch.TV, the prominent and now Amazon-owned game streaming site. Practically, though, YouTube Gaming is mostly just a skin and a new interface for finding your favorite livestreaming game content also accessible through the main YouTube website.

YouTube Gaming is available worldwide, but the app is restricted to just the United States and the United Kingdom for the time being.
