First image of the alleged Galaxy S6 Plus leaks, shows off curved Edge display

Yesterday evening a report emerged that claimed Samsung would release a Galaxy S6 Plus later this year that’s essentially a larger Galaxy S6 Edge. Now, YouTuber MKBHD has shared what appears to be the first image of the Galaxy S6 Plus and as expected, it’s a larger Galaxy S6 Edge.

The picture doesn’t show much, but that’s because there just isn’t a lot to see. The Galaxy S6 Plus is expected to have either a 5.4-inch or 5.5-inch display, which is considerably larger than the 5.1-inch Galaxy S6. The S6 Plus features the same curved design as the Edge model and the same metal design. As far as specs go, the Galaxy S6 Plus is rumored to feature 32GB of internal storage, a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, a 16MP rear camera, and a 5MP front camera.

The rumor yesterday regarding the Galaxy S6 Plus seemed a bit sketchy at the time, but with this leaked image from a reliable source like MKBHD, the existence of the device seems more plausible. Earlier this year it was reported that Samsung was seeing better than expected sales of the Galaxy S6 Edge, so perhaps the company is looking to ride that wave with yet another variant of the device. There’s still no word on when the device will launch, but with IFA taking place in September, we wouldn’t imagine a launch any later than that.
