You can now order takeout in the U.S. from your Google search results

In a post on Google+ this evening, Google has announced that it is adding a new feature to its search engine that will make it incredibly easy to quickly order food on the go. Google says that starting today, if you search for a restaurant that is integrated with Seamless, Eat24, GrubHub, Delivery.com, MyPizza.com, or BeyondMenu, you will be able to order a meal directly from the search results.

When you search for a restaurant integrated into those six providers, there will be a “Place an order” button on the search result card. Tapping that will allow you to continue to the restaurant’s interface to quickly place an order for your favorite meal.

Google says it is working hard to integrate more providers into the feature, but for now Seamless, Grubhub, Eat24, Delivery.com, BeyondMenu and MyPizza.com are the supported services. You can try this new feature out for yourself by Googling the name of your favorite restaurant from your device.

Whether you’re craving deep dish pizza or pad thai, starting today you can order food from some of your favorite restaurants directly from Google search results.

When you search for a nearby restaurant on your phone, you’ll see an option to “Place an order” in the search results. Just tap that, choose the delivery service and you’ll be taken to their website to complete the order.

Initially, you’ll be able to order via six providers in the US — Seamless, Grubhub, Eat24, Delivery.com, BeyondMenu and MyPizza.com — but we’ll be looking to add more in the future.
