Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge now available for U.S. pre-order

Almost a month after Samsung formally announced its new flagship handsets, the S6 and S6 edge, the company has tweeted that the handsets are available for pre-order in the US. Both models will go on sale on April 10th from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile,  Verizon, and U.S. Cellular …

Both models are powered by a 64-bit octa-core Exynos processor. Samsung has dropped the SD card slot, so you’ll need to choose your storage option carefully from the 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB variants. The screen is a 5.1-inch 2560×1440 display.

Battery life should be good, with a 2550mAh (standard) or slightly larger 2600mAh (edge) capacity. The camera is an all-new model with 16MP, optical image stabilization and new IR white balance.

The smartphones have metal frames and all-glass backs, in a choice of three colors: White Pearl, Black Sapphire and Gold Platinum.

If you’re trying to choose between the standard and edge models, our hands-on video comparison may help. It also looks like the phone is pretty tough.
