OnePlus releases CyanogenMod 11S 05Q update w/ SwiftKey and MaxxAudio included

OnePlus told us in December that the One would be getting MaxxAudio—which will supposedly improve sound performance—in a future update, and that update to the phone’s software has finally arrived. But today’s update also packs a plethora of other features that users of the One will greatly appreciate, and as the company told us would be happening, the update includes the addition of SwiftKey as a default keyboard as well.

As described in the company’s forum post announcing the update:

Today the latest OTA CM 11S release, 05Q, will start rolling out to our users. This one is packed with new features and fixes to some known issues. With this update you will see that there are improvements to BlueDroid, an updated configuration for NFC, updated media codecs (as well as enabled WMA DSP and AAC codecs), and a few security fixes. Furthermore, SwiftKey and MaxxAudio by Waves, which have always been a OnePlus staffer favorites when it comes to keyboards and sound performance, are now an integrated to the OnePlus experience with this update.

According to a blog post written by OnePlus a couple months ago, MaxxAudio by Waves will allow “deeper bass, clearer highs, louder volume levels and more immersive sound from speakers.” OnePlus says that the the feature is “specifically tuned” to improve sound output on the One (and the company’s Silver Bullet headphones as well). SwiftKey, as you all may know, is simply a very popular third-party keyboard that OnePlus says has always been a “staffer favorite”, and they felt it would work well integrated into the “OnePlus experience.”

While MaxxAudio and SwiftKey are the most notable user-facing changes here, the update also includes several fixes and improvements across many areas of the device.
