Google provides Inbox for Gmail users with three additional invites

It has been just over one week since Inbox for Gmail was released as Google’s intuitive new emailing solution for Android, iOS and Chrome, and many users have been eager to get their hands on the exciting new product. For those still waiting, you’re in luck, as Google has just provided Inbox users with three additional invites to send out.

If you have already installed Inbox for Gmail, simply open the app and tap on the red plus sign in the bottom-right corner. A list of items will pop up on the screen, and the very bottom one should be a golden invitation icon with an Invite to Inbox label. Tapping on that icon allows you to enter the email address of someone you wish to invite.

The invitations appear to be accessible from the compose menu on the iOS, Android and Chrome versions of Inbox.

I was personally impressed with the innovative design and convenience of Inbox in my hands-on review, and I have slowly been lessening my dependance on the traditional version of Gmail since. One of the best features about Inbox is Highlights, which surfaces key information and actions from emails.

Google describes Highlights best on its Developers Blog:

“For example, if you’re an airline that sends flight confirmation emails, Highlights can surface the ‘Check-in for your flight’ action and display live flight status information for recipients right in the user’s main list. The same can apply if you send customers hotel reservations, event details, event invitations, restaurant reservations, purchases, or other tickets. Highlights help ensure that your recipients see your messages and the important details at a glance.”

In the blog post, Google explains how developers can take advantage of Highlights by marking up their emails, making it easier for users to interact with their messages on Inbox, Gmail, Google Now, Google Search and Maps. Android, iOS and web developers can get started by reading Google’s email markup documentation page.
