Fleksy keyboard for Android on sale for 99¢ after securing $2 million in latest funding round

Fleksy keyboard for Android has received an update with a couple of new features and gone on sale for 99 cents through Friday after announcing it has secured $2 million in venture funding from Digital Garage, Eniac Ventures, Middleland Capital, Highland Capital Partners, Militello Capital and other investment partners.

The latest version of Fleksy for Android improves the keyboard’s core accuracy, adds an option to change the backspace and shift key layout, offers a new minimal keyboard and makes several bug fixes related to unexpected crashes, punctuation and periods. The update should be available now on the Play Store, but has yet to hit iTunes.

Fleksy will use its latest round of funding to continue developing both the Android and iOS versions of the custom keyboard, which has received over 2 million downloads since its initial release last December.

“We have already shipped three significant updates to our iOS product in the last month,” said Ioannis Verdelis, Founder and COO of Fleksy. “We’re updating and improving our keyboard app faster than anyone in the market, and already enjoy the highest ratings of any major player. The funding will enable us to maintain this momentum.”

Fleksy advertises itself as the fastest custom keyboard in the world for both Android and iOS devices. The predictive keyboard focuses on being as accurate as possible with customizable themes and sizes, gestures, emojis and badges and multilingual support for 40 languages including English, Dutch, French, German, Russian and Spanish.

Fleksy is available for a discounted price of 99 cents through the Play Store through October 31st.
