Mysterious Motorola phone appears on Geekbench with flagship specs

It seems as if speculation surrounding the Moto X+1 has been floating around the rumor mill for months now. Every week, it’s as if an announcement is imminent, then, more rumors build up and the phone remains a mere myth. This week is no exception, with a mysterious Motorola device appearing in Geekbench’s database.

The device is listed as the “motorola XT1097”, and features some top-tier specs that tip us off that this might be a new flagship device. First off, it runs Android 4.4.4, boasts a Qualcomm SnapDragon 801 clocked at 2.46 GHz with an Adreno 330, and 2GB of RAM. These specs perfectly coincide with a report last week from another benchmark service, AnTuTu.

Although Geekbench doesn’t report other factors about the device, such as screen size and camera info, AnTuTu does. They reported that the device has 5.2″ 1080P display, 12MP rear camera, 2MP front, and 24GB of storage.

With the device now showing up in benchmark tests, it’s hard to imagine Motorola isn’t at least ready to show off the device, even if we don’t see a release until later this year.
