The Associated Press reports that the Santa Cruz Police Department has arrested Alix Catherine Tichelman, reportedly a well-known prostitute from Georgia, on suspicions of second-degree murder in the death of 51-year-old Forrest Timothy Hayes. Tichelman is accused of injecting heroin into Hayes while on his yacht, and then fleeing the scene when he overdosed on the drug.

According to the report, Hayes was a Google executive that has served at Apple and Sun Microsystems in the past. He died on Nov. 23rd in his 50-foot yacht. Santa Cruz police report that Hayes had an ongoing relationship with the prostitute, who told police that she has over 200 clients.

Tichelman is also charged with prostitution, transporting drugs and destroying evidence. The 26-year-old appeared in Santa Cruz County Superior Court on Wednesday and is being held on $1.5 million bail.
