Google I/O registration pushed back by a week – reason unclear

Registration for Google’s I/O developer’s conference, originally due to open today, has been pushed back by a week, now opening on 15th April.

Google hasn’t offered any explanation, though its brief statement suggests that a problem in the registration process has been spotted at the last minute …

We’re still working to make the registration process even easier for you, and it will now be open four days starting next week (opening next Tuesday and closing Friday).

For the first time this year, places are being offered by lottery: Google will randomly allocate places amongst all those who apply. The lucky few will still have to fork out $900 for their ticket to the conference, which takes place on 25-26 June in San Francisco.
