Google’s Chairman is back with a microphone courtesy of Bloomberg TV making his predictions for 2014. There’s little question Schmidt has made some bold statements lately, including how to properly switch from the iPhone.

Schmidt starts off bold in a big way claiming that in 2014, “everyone is going to have a smartphone.”

“The trend has been mobile was winning, it’s now won,” claims Schmidt as he highlights that tablets and smartphones are outselling PCs (even if Google’s Chromebooks are doing really well).

Schmidt also highlights “the arrival of big data and machine intelligence everywhere” which brings about the ability to locate and rank people, and the way big data will change “every business globally.” Schmidt then points out that genetics is one area that we are still looking to work with, due to their “unfathomable importance.” Moreover, Schmidt points out that Google will not miss the social train again.

“The biggest mistake I made was not anticipating the rise of the social networking phenomenon…not a mistake we’re going to make again.”

Schmidt has a history of bold teasers and even as many of these predictions are obvious to even the most general consumer, it’s still good to hear from such a high-ranking executive where he thinks the world and more specifically his company will go in 2014.
