HTC One Google Play owners take note, KitKat update rolling out

ZOMG, it’s happening! Google Play edition HTC One owners should be on the lookout for an over-the-air update to Android 4.4 KitKat. The update weighs in at 320MB and according to Android Central, is arriving automatically on some handsets already.

Unfortunately, the rollout is staggered as is usually the case for updates such as this but there is good news…a side-loadeding OTA update is waiting for you at XDA-Developers. A quick reminder for all non-Nexus 5 devices, the update will include the older stock Android launcher and not the variant integrated with Google Now. To side-load the update: download the update directly to local storage, then select “update from phone storage” in stock recovery to flash your update.
