Verizon Wireless officially announced the long-awaited Droid Bionic to be released tomorrow, and we are very excited to a look at the reviews that along with the announcement. The general consensus is that the Droid Bionic is a winner, if you’re looking to take advantage of Verizon’s badass 4G network and shell out the $299. We’ll add more reviews as they come in.

This is not the killer handset that I think a lot of people were expecting it to be — it’s a good phone on a great network that will keep you satisfied… for now. As usual with Android phones, there always seems to be something else just around the bend, and you’ve got to figure out if you’re going to take the next exit, or keep on trucking. Let’s just say that the Droid Bionic isn’t a bad place to pull off and grab a cup of coffee.

The Motorola Droid Bionic is everything you want from a high-end smartphone–it’s sleek, fast, and powerful, with features that will please both consumers and business users–if you’re willing to pay the high price.

Most customers aren’t won by fact sheets that list things like dual-core processors or HDMI connectivity. They don’t want a machine or tool. They want a piece of the magic that has sent the iPhone to the top of buyers’ wish lists. The Droid Bionic has that, if you can wade through all the cold packaging. It’s an undeniably great phone, powered by the fastest wireless network in the air today. For those who have been waiting out the 4G smartphone race this summer, hoping for a hit with the Bionic, your wait has been rewarded. This one is worth buying.

Although we don’t have a definitive answer about its battery life yet, I expect it to be competitive or better than smartphones in this category. That said, I’m just about sure that the battery life won’t be as good as non-LTE phones. Because of that, I would prefer recommending it to users who don’t mind charging their the phone more often than usual. It is true that there aren’t a whole lot of choices for those who want to switch to 4G LTE, but if you want to benefit from LTE’s network prowess, the Droid Bionic is the best choice.

Because the Droid Bionic delivers in our most important levels, it earns a GottaBeMobile Editor’s Choice award. While there are some small issues, the combination of 4G LTE, a dual core processor and attention to overall design deliver a top-notch Android device.
