I wasn’t massively impressed with the Moto Z3 Play, it wasn’t exactly a fully realized device in my opinion. That said, it had some great camera controls and a nice clean camera experience. The most recent Motorola camera updates have added a slew of new features including a brand new selfie portrait mode — which is available for all Moto devices — AR Stickers for the Moto Z3 and Moto Z3 Play alongside new image watermarking features.

The Moto Z3 Play could be considered a great phone. It has an improved design, an exceptional software experience, solid build, and the ability to increase functionality with the Moto Mod system. However, the phone becomes more of an issue when you see just what other devices are achieving at the same price point, making the Moto Z3 much harder to recommend.

Motorola has an ever-growing list of Android smartphones on the market, and the company is no stranger to discounting those through Amazon’s Prime Exclusive program. Today, the recently launched Moto Z3 Play and Moto G6 Play are joining the program.
Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve seen several leaks of the Moto Z3 Play. Now, the company’s upcoming smartphone’s name has shown up in the changelog for the Moto Voice app.
At the beginning of the week, an internal document leaked and provided us with some essential details about the forthcoming Moto Z3 Play. Now, screenshots from what looks like a promotional video have surfaced that show off the handset in-hand alongside a new Moto Mod that will allow the phone to connect to 5G.
Up until this point, the only thing we’ve heard about the Moto Z3 Play comes from a leaked render of the handset that shows the removal of the front-facing fingerprint sensor. Now, an internal document has leaked that appears to show the Z3 Play’s specs, software features, and information on several Moto Mod bundles that’ll be sold with the device.
Motorola might have shot themselves in the foot a couple of years ago by promising to make all Moto Mods forward compatible. That restriction makes it really difficult to make a device that actually looks different, and with our first look at the coming Moto Z3 Play, that’s exactly what we’re seeing…
