How to add music to your Instagram Stories on Android

Now that the option has rolled out to Android, here’s how to add music to your Instagram Stories.

How to add music to your Instagram Stories

  1. Record a photo/video or upload one from the gallery
  2. Tap on the sticker button
  3. Select Music
  4. Find a song and desired audio clip
  5. Share with your followers

First, open the Instagram app and swipe inward from the left side of your screen to access the app’s built-in camera app. From there, either capture a new video or picture or tap on the box in the lower left-hand corner to find something in your phone’s gallery.

Next, select the Stickers button in the top right-hand corner. The icon looks like a peeled up square with a smiley face on it. From there, locate and choose the Music option.

This next screen shows you all of the different music that is available through Instagram’s library. Either find a song in the popular, moods, or genres tabs or search for a specific hit. After you tap on it, you will be asked to select a clip length (up to 15 seconds) and find the particular section of the song you wish to include in your Story.

When complete hit Done. You should now see a sticker on your image or video displaying the song and artist name. You can move and resize the label so that it’s not intruding on your Story.

Lastly, select the + Your Story button in the bottom left-hand corner to upload the clip to your Instagram Story.
