Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 specs, pricing leak ahead of alleged MWC reveal

There hasn’t been much news out of the tablet realm in the past several months when it comes to Android, but with MWC just around the corner, we’re expecting some big announcements both in the world of phones and in tablets. One of those is Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S3, and now we’ve got some new info on the tablet.

According to Naver News, Samsung is allegedly launching the Galaxy Tab S3 just ahead of MWC later this month. Samsung’s previous tablet, the Galaxy Tab S2, was launched back in September of 2015, so we’re definitely overdue for an update.

Apparently, Samsung’s updated tablet won’t swap out the 9.6-inch 2048×1536 display, but will include spec bumps in the processing department. Instead of using Samsung’s in-house processors, the company is apparently opting to use the Snapdragon 820 chipset, which seems a little odd considering both the Snapdragon 821 and Snapdragon 835 are both hitting the market. Regardless, that processor brings more than enough power to the table, especially paired with the upgraded 4GB of RAM.

Samsung will also be pre-loading Android Nougat on the Tab S3, a great addition considering Nougat’s excellent tablet features. Further, the tablet will apparently come in at an ultra-thin 5.6mm thick. It will also apparently pack a 12MP camera and predictably come in both Wi-Fi only and LTE models.

Naver further says that the Tab S3 will release in Korea during March of this year with a price landing at around $600 USD. That’s not out of the question for a high-end tablet in 2017, but it’s not exactly a competitive price point. Hopefully, in other regions the Tab S3 will come in at more affordable price points.

We’ll likely hear more about the Tab S3 as MWC approaches, along with Samsung’s major announcement, the Galaxy S8.
