Support for US Cellular officially available on Project Fi today alongside app update

After announcing the addition early this month, Google has finally enabled support for US Cellular’s network starting today for all users. To “ensure your device is ready to connect,” Google says you should download an update the Project Fi app which is currently rolling out via Google Play.

US Cellular joins the ranks of Sprint and T-Mobile, adding even more flexible coverage for Fi users here in the US as their phones can now bounce between all three networks to get the best coverage and speeds. Google had the following to say regarding US Cellular earlier this month:

Part of Project Fi’s promise is to ensure you have connection when you need it, even in areas with poor speeds or limited coverage. Your Fi device recognizes when your connection is weak and adjusts in real time. By accessing multiple cellular networks, Fi users have a connection nearly 99% of the time, and spend about 95% of cellular time on LTE — which will improve even further with the addition of U.S. Cellular.

As mentioned the update is rolling out right now, so head over to Google Play and see if it’s available on your device!
