Micromax says its next ‘insanely beautiful’ phone will ‘break the flagships’

Indian smartphone manufacturer, Micromax, has teased its next phone in a forum post claiming that it will not only redefine flagships, it will break them. Micromax’s chief posted a short update claiming that the next device is “nothing short of incredible” and that it is “insanely beautiful”…

Post the YUTOPIA launch, we have been working at a different clock speed and momentum to break all that’s conventional and boring.

Excited to tell you all that our next device is round the corner and its nothing short of Incredible. It’s insanely beautiful and it will break some hearts. It will break records, it will break the conventional, it will break the rules…WAIT, it will break the flagships.

Of course, Micromax isn’t the first small-name Android OEM to claim its device is superior to the major flagships. OnePlus has been running the ‘flagship killer’ tagline for the past two generations of its line-leading smartphones. Last year it went as far as saying that the OnePlus 2 was a device capable of “killing” this year’s biggest smartphones. We all know how that turned out

Consequently, we have a hard time believing that the next Micromax phone has what it takes to compete with the likes of the Galaxy S7 Edge, HTC 10 or Nexus 6P. Even if it has the specs, it most certainly won’t be available in enough markets to approach a level of competing with their sales figures. Saying that, it could grab some decent market share in India.

With all that said, Micromax, forgive us if we don’t take your strange, inexplicable black-and-white slow-motion video of a model ship being destroyed by a mallet completely seriously.
