Report: Google to unveil LG, Huawei Nexus phones at September 29 event

According to a report this morning from CNET, Google is planning two unveil two Nexus handset — one from LG, and one from Huawei — at an event scheduled from September 29th. Details of both the smaller “Nexus 5” made by LG and the new “Nexus 6” made by Huawei have been steadily leaking out over the last couple months, and — just as many have suggested — the two phones are slated to made official at the end of this month…

Renders of both the LG and Huawei Nexus’ (Nexii?) have been popping up left and right for quite some time. We got a look at the Huawei Nexus earlier this month and had some rough sketches of what is likely the back of the LG Nexus last month. Most recently, purported high-quality renders of the Huawei Nexus were shared, and the LG Nexus had its specs detailed a couple weeks after even more detailed render leaks were shared.

Hard details on the specifications of the Huawei Nexus have been sparse, but it’s assumed that some features — named USB Type-C and fingerprint scanners — will be shared between both handsets. The LG “Nexus 5” is rumored to have a Snapdragon 808, a 5.2-inch 1080p Display, 3 GB RAM, a 2700 mAh battery, USB-C support, a 12.3-megapixel main sensor, and a 5-megapixel front camera. Of course, both phones will be shipping with Android Marshmallow on board.
