Quick video tour of Android M developer preview 2

With Google having released the second version of its developer preview for Android M, we thought it would be useful to take you through a visual tour of some of the changes …

Stephen has already listed all the new changes found within the latest dev preview of Android M yesterday. If you haven’t, you should definitely go and read his comprehensive list of changes here.

I’ll admit it, this is the very first time I’ve flashed anything or installed an operating system manually on an Android phone. For a first timer, it’s a little confusing. Thankfully, Stephen came to my rescue behind the scenes with some pointers. This awesome tutorial helped a lot too.

Among my own personal favorite changes within the 2nd preview is the new horizontal view on the Now Launcher home screen. With the rotation toggle switched on, you can now view your home screen in portrait or landscape view. ON a screen the size of the Nexus 6, that’s an awesome addition to have. Interactions with the user interface, and with the apps seems a lot zippier, more responsive than I’ve experienced previously. I particularly noticed how smooth scrolling was in Chrome, browsing the web.

Be sure to let us know what your favorite additions are, or if you’ve found any hidden gems we need to know about.
