While most of the world anxiously awaits Android Lollipop, AT&T has today started rolling out a couple of non-Lollipop updates to two of its devices: the Samsung Galaxy S 4 and the LG G3. And while the LG G3 is getting a relatively minor update, the Galaxy S 4 is actually being updated to Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
The update for the Samsung Galaxy S 4 pushes the device to 4.4.4, which comes with the typical miscellaneous bug fixes and improvements. The update also includes an E911 Call issue fix and the addition of six new apps: Keeper, Mail, Live, Uber, Remote Support, and Device Help. Finally, Knox 2.0, Samsung’s Enterprise Security and Management suite, is also coming to the Galaxy S 4 in today’ update.
The Galaxy’s update includes:
– Miscellaneous improvements, bug fixes and security updates
– E911 Call issue fix
– Added Knox 2.0
– Applications added: Keeper, Mail, Live, Uber, Remote Support, Device Help
The LG G3 is getting a more minor update, which packs some bug fixes and updates to various apps.
The LG G3 software update includes:
-“No power on” Fix via Qualcomms patch
-GMS (Google Mobile Service) update
-Google Security Patches
-Stability improvements
-Mobile TV 6.0
-Skyfire Toolbar removal
It’s definitely unfortunate if you were hoping to read about Lollipop coming to these devices, but the day that happens is definitely not far off. It was just a week ago that we saw a video of Lollipop running on the S4, and Android 5.0 for the G3 is supposed to be rolling out imminently.
