Google Play Store updated with interface tweaks, PayPal billing support

Earlier this afternoon Google announced that it was making several improvements to the billing capabilities of the Play Store, and now the company has updated the entire Play Store app to go along with it. Pushing the version number to 4.8.19, the update adds a few interface tweaks to the app, in addition to the billing capabilities previously announced.

The first thing you’ll notice in the app is that the headers on pages throughout the Play Store have been changed. Instead of being a solid color like in previous version, the updated Play Store app now has transparent title bars that don’t interfere with the header images as much. Although for some reason, the new title bars don’t appear to apply to every interface in the app.

There’s also a new section on pages for individual apps called “Additional Information”. This section lists the the latest version, installed size, content rating, and an option to display app permissions. Finally, the button sizes throughout the Play Store have also been tweaked and are now slightly larger, making them considerably easier to hit.

The Play Store update is rolling out now, but may take a while to hit your device. Head over to Android Police, where you can download the APK file now.
